I saw this man on the Metro this past Monday, and asked him who the flowers were for. They were for his wife. They’ve been married for 47 years. Every Monday, he brings her home flowers after work. My heart died at that moment.

I've been an adult longer than I have been "legally." People tend to forget that I'm only 20 because I can clean up rather nicely and talk with the rest of the "grown-ups." I already worry about money and success when I'm alone but I'm reckless and daring when surrounded by people. I'm going to fail a lot more than I succeed these next few years because I decided that being a writer, historian, and francophone creates happiness even if you need money to "live."
And for now, I'm blissfully happy and hopelessly frustrated at the same time.
I'm going to just keep on rolling with it all.
